About the organization:
ASDEV is Not-for-profit local foundation established since 2011 as a development foundation and was formally registered in 2021 under the companies’ code of Ghana. Asdev Foundation promotes grassroots-based smallholder farmer (especially women and youth) organisational development in capacity building and trainings in agricultural production, processing and marketing in Northern, Savannah, North-East, Upper East and Upper West Regions of Ghana.
Since its inception in 2011 it has been at the forefront of the smallholder farmer businesses, Cooperatives, FBO’s, CBO’s etc in the areas of;
1. Women and youth empowerment through Agribusiness
2. Agriculture and food security
3. Climate action and environmental sustainability
4. Advocacy and enabling policy environment
5. Child Educational care
6. Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Asdev Foundation addresses the roles of individual stakeholders, partnerships, public sector and leadership in building an inclusive agricultural transformation across the country and the whole continent.
Number of staff;
Asdev Foundation currently have 5 highly skilled professional permanent staff and 10 temporary staff.
Mission: Is to facilitate and build the capacities of vulnerable smallholder farmers in sustainable agriculture to better adopt to the effect of climate change to improve food security and promote water, sanitation and hygiene practices for all around human development.
Vision: Is to see hunger free with more incomes in Northern Ghana with healthier citizens who will initiate and champion their own developmental agenda.
