This manual is designed to provide GSA members and partners with an understanding of the current acceptable use of shea in the Indian (food) market based on standards set for by the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India (FSSAI), limitation of use as well as requirements for a food operator. This manual compliment the economic analysis of the potential of shea in light of the FSSAI legal changes prepared by Sidley Austin, and was published as part of the PRADCIFK project funded by the Enhanced Integrated Framework.
