Alternative Trees for Firewood/Charcoal and Best Practice in Charcoal Production

This presentation, delivered by the West African Center for Shea Innovation and Research (WACSIR) at the 2023 Action for Shea Parklands Stakeholders Forum as ​​part of the "Strengthening the Sustainability of the Shea Supply Chain in northern Ghana", implemented in partnership by Tungteiya Women’s Association, Solidaridad, Global Shea Alliance, The Body Shop, Cargill Zor and the Lorna Young Foundation’s Farmers’ Voice Radio explores alternative tree options for sustainable charcoal production, highlighting the rationale, selection criteria, potential alternatives, and environmental implications.
