Technical Committees Proposed Framework

This presentation, delivered by Global Shea Alliance (GSA) at the 2025 EU Conference, has established a Technical Committee to help develop important documents such as standards, manuals and guidelines for the shea industry. These materials are meant to ensure the quality, safety and traceability of shea products throughout the entire value chain. The committee plays a key role in promoting transparency and professionalism within the sector by encouraging all actors, from producers to exporters, to follow best practices. The committee is made up of 15 members who come from different parts of the shea value chain. These members are selected based on their technical experience and represent sectors such as processing, exporting and nonprofit organizations.
